The R12.ATG_PF.B.Delta.3 patch (8919491) recently got released to Oracle Metalink. This patch contains certain feature advancements in Integrated SOA Gateway (ISG), which I wish to highlight in this post.

Enhanced administration with SOA Monitor and enhanced debug logging capabilities

E-Business Suite users having Integrated SOA Gateway responsibility and additionally Integration Repository Administrator Permission Set role, would be able to see the SOA Monitor and Log functions in the navigator.

SOA Monitor

With the new SOA Monitor changes, you would be able to turn on or turn off the auditing capability right from the monitor user interface.

The request and response payloads are tracked only if auditing is turned on. Apart from that, users will have much more search options for monitor activities.

Logging

The debug logging capability enhances the diagnose-ability of a failed service, generation or deployment.

You can specify a log severity for a certain user or globally and for specific services. The logs are written back either in mid-tier file system or in logging table(s), which can be further viewed through Oracle Applications Manager.

SAML Authentication Support

On the service generation side, SAML authentication support has been added.

Service generated and deployed with SAML Token support would be able to authenticate the inbound requests containing SAML Assertions. There are some administrative tasks, which need to be perfomed both on the client and E-Business Suite server side, in order to fully enable the SAML Authentication. The details can be found in Oracle Metalink Note 1144313.1.

Note:- Either Username Token or SAML Token can be used at a time, per service.
